why do authors/artists create characters to mimic society and/or societal issues?
do you agree with the conclusions about the heroes made by the author?

authors and artists create characters to mimic society and the issues of society because it is what we can most relate to. we as humans tend to have a more difficult time understanding and relating to stories or things of that nature that we have never had to encounter or don't understand the feelings that go along with those issues. if an author or  artists creates a superhero or a story that is very understandable to us, or something we have gone through, we are more likely to like that better than something we can't relate to, because on a certain level it doesn't make since to us. i don't think we completely understand everything about the superheros or the stories but the main idea that we understand are the symbolic emotions and struggles that they represent, it's more relatable than a story about something we have never heard of before.

yes i do agree with the the conclusion that the author made, that is generally why those stories are so popular is because we can understand the struggles they go through to an extent, or relate to the emotions they are dealing with or the decisions they must face. though we are not faced with a decision on trying to save the world or to destroy earth like the silver surfer, it's a situation that is understandable to us. most of us know how it feels to make a huge decision therefore we can relate to the constant battle that must be going through his head as he tries to decide the right thing to do. and even though he did the right thing he was still punished, just like that happens in life sometimes.
